Overview

Minebook – Address Book for Minecraft is designed to store your worlds, locations, coordinates, notes, tags and photos locally on your device.

Minebook does not require an account and does not ask you to provide your name, email address or other directly identifying personal information.

Minebook uses privacy-focused, anonymous usage analytics to understand how the app is used, identify problems and improve its features. You can disable this analytics collection at any time in the app.

Information stored on your device

Content you create or import into Minebook is stored locally on your device. This may include:

World names
Location names
Minecraft coordinates and dimensions
Notes and tags
Photos and screenshots you choose to import
App settings and preferences
Locally created backup files

Minebook does not upload this content to the developer or to the analytics service.

Minebook does not transmit world names, location names, coordinates, notes, tag text, photos, screenshots, clipboard contents or recognised text from screenshots as analytics.

If you delete the app, locally stored content may also be deleted unless you have previously exported a backup.

Anonymous usage analytics

Minebook uses TelemetryDeck, a third-party privacy-focused analytics service, to collect anonymous information about how the app is used.

This may include:

Which app screens or guide pages are opened
Which features and controls are used
Whether actions such as creating, editing, copying, searching, importing or exporting succeed or fail
Whether purchase, restoration or paywall actions occur
Generalised counts and size ranges, such as the approximate number of saved items or the size range of a backup
App version and build number
Whether the app is running as a development, TestFlight or App Store build
General device category, such as iPhone, iPad or Mac
Major operating-system version

TelemetryDeck may assign an anonymised identifier associated with a particular app installation so that aggregated usage, sessions and retention can be measured. Minebook does not provide TelemetryDeck with your name, email address, Apple Account, advertising identifier or another directly identifying account identifier.

Analytics information is used only to understand app usage and improve Minebook. It is not used for targeted advertising, advertising measurement or cross-app tracking, and it is not sold to data brokers.

You can disable anonymous analytics in Minebook’s settings or About screen. When analytics is disabled, Minebook stops sending analytics events to TelemetryDeck.

Clipboard access

Minebook may inspect clipboard content when offering to import Minecraft coordinates that you have copied.

Clipboard contents are processed for this feature and are not sent to the developer or included in analytics.

Photo Library access

Minebook allows you to select photos or screenshots for use with saved locations and coordinate-recognition features.

The app accesses only the images you select. Selected images and any text or coordinates recognised from them are processed for the requested app feature and are not uploaded to the developer or included in analytics.

Photos and screenshots added to Minebook remain stored locally as part of the app’s content unless you remove them.

Backups and exports

Minebook allows you to create, export and import backup files.

Backup files contain the information you have chosen to store in the app. Minebook does not upload these files to the developer.

When you export or share a backup, the file is transferred only to the destination or service you select through Apple’s system share interface. The privacy practices of that destination or service will then apply.

Purchases

Minebook may offer an optional in-app purchase through Apple’s App Store.

Purchase processing is handled by Apple. Minebook does not receive or store your full payment-card details.

Minebook may record anonymous analytics events indicating that a purchase or restoration process was started, completed, cancelled, left pending or failed. These events do not include your payment details or Apple Account information.

Apple’s privacy policy applies to purchases processed through the App Store.

Tracking and advertising

Minebook does not:

Display third-party advertising
Use advertising networks
Access Apple’s advertising identifier
Combine Minebook analytics with information from other companies’ apps or websites for advertising
Use collected information for targeted advertising or advertising measurement
Sell information to data brokers

Under Apple’s definition, Minebook does not use collected information for tracking purposes.

Children’s privacy

Minebook is suitable for use by children, but it is not specifically directed only at children.

The app does not require an account and does not ask users to submit directly identifying personal information.

Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of device-sharing, photo-import and backup-export features, particularly where content may be shared with another app or service selected by the user.

Data retention and deletion

Content stored locally can be removed by deleting it within Minebook or by deleting the app.

Anonymous analytics information held by TelemetryDeck is handled according to TelemetryDeck’s retention and privacy practices. Because the analytics information is anonymised and is not linked to your identity or an account, the developer is not able to locate analytics relating to a particular person.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Minebook’s features or data practices change.

Updates will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
